Chairman

Mr Thiraphong Chansiri:

Appointed as Group Board member by way of shareholders’ resolution on 29th October 2010, Mr Chansiri was appointed as MW Brands SAS Chairman on the same date for a time-period ending upon the adoption of the shareholders’ resolutions relating to the annual accounts for the financial year ending 31st December 2016.

Mr. Chansiri has over 20 years of experience working in the seafood industry. He joins Thai Union Group in 1988 and was elevated to the President of Thai Union Frozen products Public Co., Ltd., the holding company of the Group, in 1995. Mr. Chansiri is the driving force behind a number of the Group's achievements in the Group's history, taking the company public and bringing the Group to the milestone of one billion USD in revenue.

Mr. Chansiri holds a MBA degree from University of San Francisco.

 

 

 

Other Group Board Members

Mr Adolfo Valsecchi:

Appointed as Group Board member by way of shareholders’ resolution on 29th October 2010 for a time-period ending upon the adoption of the shareholders’ resolutions relating to the annual accounts for the financial year ending 31st December 2016.

Mr. Valsecchi has an engineer background and started running small tuna operations in Italy, Madeira (Portugal) and Somalia. Ran the second-largest canned seafood business in Italy for more than twenty years. He represented this activity in the Italian canners association, and was an active member of several joint working groups in the EU Commission in Brussels. Mr Valsecchi’s whole professional life has been dedicated to the seafood industry.

He joined Heinz in 1996 as Managing Director of Mareblu business and the four tuna canneries. In 1999, he became Managing Director of the whole Heinz Seafood business in Europe. Adolfo Valsecchi is also chairman of IAT, an Italian tuna fishing company.

Mr. Valsecchiis also the CEO of the Group.


Mr. Cheng Niruttinanon

Appointed as Group Board member by way of shareholders’ resolution on 29th October 2010 for a time-period ending upon the adoption of the shareholders’ resolutions relating to the annual accounts for the financial year ending 31st December 2016.

Mr. Niruttinanon is a founding member of Thai Union Group and has been engaged in the business in the past four decades. He currently holds various directorial positions in multiple companies within the Group and is actively involved in the Group's shelf stable tuna business. He is also a director of the Thai Food Processors' Association (TFPA), which works with different sectors at both domestic and international levels, to promote Thailand's food industries.

 

 

 

 

Mr. Tin-King (Simon) Chan

Appointed as Group Board member by way of a shareholders’ resolution on 29th October 2010 for a time-period ending upon the adoption of the shareholders’ resolutions relating to the annual accounts for the financial year ending 31st December 2016.

Mr. Chan has been with Thai Union since 1995 and has held various positions in marketing and finance.  In 1997, Mr. Chan was seconded to San Diego to act as the representative of Thai Union in its acquisition of Chicken of the Sea (the 3rd largest tuna brand in the US).  He returned to Thailand in 2000 to start an internet company in which TUF holds a minority stake.  Starting in 2004, he also concurrently held the position of Group Finance Director until the present.

Mr. Chan holds B.S. degrees in MIS and Economics from California State University, Fresno.

 

 

Mr RavinderSingh Grewal

Appointed as Group Board member by way of a shareholders’ resolution on 29th October 2010 for a time-period ending upon the adoption of the shareholders’ resolutions relating to the annual accounts for the financial year ending 31st December 2016.

Mr Singh is an Investment Director of Standard Chartered Private Equity Limited and has 17 years of experience in corporate finance and private equity.  His corporate finance deals have included IPOs and bond issues in Singapore, merger & acquisition transactions in South-East Asia as well as debt restructuring transactions in Malaysia and Indonesia.  His private equity deals have included both buy-outs and growth capital deals in South East Asia.   He previously worked for Standard Chartered Merchant Bank and also DBS Bank in Singapore. 

Mr Singh holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of New South Wales, Australia and is also a member of the Certified Public Accountants, Australia.

 

 

Board Vice Chairman

Mr. Tin Shu(Roy)Chan

Born on 1st September 1973 ,  appointed as Group Board member by way of a shareholders’ resolution on 29th October 2010 for a time-period ending upon the adoption of the shareholders’ resolutions relating to the annual accounts for the financial year ending 31st December 2016.  Appointed as Board Vice-Chairman in 2012.

Mr.Chan has been with Thai Union Group since 1995 and had held various position within the organization in the fields from foreign affairs to logistics to sales and marketing to senior management. During his 15 years with the company, he was involved in multiple projects that helped Thai Union grow to a multi-billion dollar company. He was actively involved in the Group's most recent acquisition of MW Brands.

Mr.Chan holds a B.S. degree in Mathematics from the University of Southern California and a MBA degree from the Bangkok University.

 

 

 

Mr. Stephen NELSON :

Stephen Nelson was appointed as Group Board member by way of shareholders’ resolution on 30th September 2011 till  31st December 2016.
Stephen currently holds various Non Exec roles. In his career he has held board level positions in major companies across food retailing, beverages and transport sectors. He has been CEO of BAA, the largest airport group in the world. He was also Group Retail Director, Group Trading and Marketing Director at Sainsbury's Supermarkets and Managing Director of Guinness Brewing Britain. Earlier in his career he trained as a strategy consultant, and gained a first class Master's degree in Classics from Oxford University.

Company Secretary

Mr David Sankowicz:

Appointed as Company Secretary (Censeur) by the Group Board on 27th March 2006.

Mr Sankowicz joined Heinz in May 2005 and is now acting as Group Legal Affairs & Insurance Manager within MW Brands. Prior to joining Heinz, David worked in the industry in France (SIDEL, a TetralLaval subsidiary) as well as in a Direct Marketing company (Consodata) where he was in charge of the IPO. He started in a fashion company (NafNaf– Chevignon).

He is a graduate of Queen Mary and Westfield College, London University in European comparative law, has a master in Arbitration from Paris 2 University and holds a French bar certificate.
